Monday 11th March
Sometimes, at Christmas, dad would tug the cover off the dusty old barbeque and we would have a big family dinner. Cousins, aunties, uncles, grandparents started to arrive around lunch as mum and Nanny started to prepare the food. Sausages, steak, fresh bread, eggs, pasta salad and meat patties.
People sat out on the deck in big comfy deck chairs and chatted and drunk beer while us kids run around the backyard. “Foods ready!" Yelled mum from the kitchen. "Come get it!"
